Yes, Ikea.
Ikea consistently wins awards for best design, consumer experience, and everything else under the sun. The Sweedish company took the USA by storm. Have you ever shopped in an Ikea store? It’s one heck of an experience.
Those are the positives. I’d say everything else about Ikea are negative. Marobella points out that their website and 800# are terrible. The interface and user flow are terrible. For the 800#, how many hours have you spent on the phone with them when you finally got around to calling?
One of the last things happen to be their instructions. How in the world do they come up with those instructions? They are like reading a subway map from a different country.
For whatever reason though, we all like Ikea. I guess we find value in them. Their costs are low enough where we overlook all of the faults and still can derive value. I don’t know many people who haven’t cursed at the instructions while setting up their new item from Ikea.
When guests arrive hours or days later, we love Ikea… comments are usually positive about the items. If they only knew what it was like before they arrived…
