Brett, thank you very much for taking note of this piece and also for clarifying to all of the readers. Very often, not being part of the 'action' limits us in what we know.

I like this strategy a lot for many reasons but most of all, I don't think video games have seen their time of day yet in both the financial and media communities. 500 million gamers worldwide. That's a lot of consumers. GarageGames and an IAC tie-in could go a long way.

Darren,

Interesting post. I thought it could use a little clarification though, so I'll point out of few of the easy pieces and then direct you [back] to Josh Williams' interview with Game Daily BIZ for further detail.

-IAC purchased a majority interest in GarageGames, but GarageGames is developing the InstantAction.com gaming service internally with the collaboration of some very smart IAC people.
-GarageGames has announced no material changes to the licensing of Torque game engine products.
-We're exploring a number of revenue models for InstantAction.com (some of which you mention), but that's secondary to providing a new and less restrictive way for developers to reach gamers. Developers are not required to use Torque for their game to find a place on InstantAction.com

Thanks,

-Brett
