PS: 1) Sorry about the typos in my comment. That’s what happens when you write=>edit=>post instead of write=>edit=>proofread =>post. 2) RE Jason's comment / quote: "Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action." I respect your opinion, but that makes no sense to me. Maybe we have different definitions of inspiration. I'm thinking along the lines of raw creativity and maybe you're thinking along the lines of charging a hill or something. Anyway, cheers to inspiration, in all its forms!

Hi Darren,

RE: "best thinking comes from being outside the office - in the gym, on a nature walk, at a concert, in an art gallery, and other places. " It’s the same for me. I took it too the extreme last year through present, as follows: Quit my cush Associate VP job doing deals finance deals up to $900 million, move to Europe (Sweden), take seven months off to get to know the country, travel, go to concerts and get married... then pop out BuzzPal - The World Is Your Party (www.buzzpal.com). Hopefully I’ll be back in USA later this year with the whole party package in place. Cheers!

Inspiration for me comes in many forms, but usually when I am faced with an obvious problem...whether it a be how a company operates, how a govt. service is being dispensed or reading about business problems. I always seem to have something that pops into my head saying, well what if they did it this way or that way?

I think it can hit you anywhere anytime (well for me that is)

[...] This week in the ‘preneursphere has been a good one. The dudes over at Trizoko give you some insight on how to overcome your fears, Darren Herman of IGA fame tells us about his inspiration as an entrepreneur, and William Quisenberry over at Mind Petals reminds us about the value of good mentorship. • • • [...]

Strangely enough, I find Burger King, not every BK, but the one on 23rd and Park, a good place for inspiration. The restaurant is nothing special, just like every other BK. But there is something I can't explain. I have always come up with creative ideas and good brainstrom sessions (by myself) when I'm just having a sandwich there. It doesn't work in other BKs and for any of my friends.

prevost tour buses?
do those images inspire you or conjure up happy thoughts in times when you are feeling down or uninspired.
I personally can't think of what inspires me at the moment, but I am motivated to compile a list of quotes, images (i like the slideshow approach) and books over the next few days.

Also...while we're on the topic, I'm reminded of a quote I recently read on an entrepreneurs blog:

We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing.
Action always generates inspiration.
Inspiration seldom generates action.
