My good friend Jody Lentz helps people think with their hands using the Lego Serious Play tool [http://www.thinkwithyourhands.com/ ]. Here in Philadelphia, he had a large group of usually restless people fully engaged with the story and highly stimulated. I think what you did was thinking together with your hands.

This is something I do when I get stuck and need to inform a new perspective or way of looking at a problem, to get to know someone else (I have a kit in my office and visitors often play without being prompted), and to get myself out of my head and into the conversation.

Great post ... I had never heard of Webkinz before, so that is a great find for me :) ... What fascinates me is that we continue to make distinctions between on and offline experiences -- whereas, I think, kids do not.

darren, this story does remind me of when my nephew (6 years old at that time) was playing with tetris. i try to explain him how to do and that his way was the wrong one. his answer was: look at what a beautiful figures we can draw!

Great story Darren. Spent the holidays with my nephews. I forgot how exhausting it is to constantly be creating. At the same time rewarding.
